WEEKLY MEDITATION 29 DECEMBER – 3 JANUARY 2016

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your guidance and will into our lives for your glory.

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“All have sinned and are not good enough for God’s glory, and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ” (Romans 3:23-24)

“If anyone does sin, we have a helper in the presence of the Father – Jesus Christ, the One who does what is right. He is the way our sins are taken away, and not only our sins but the sins of all people” (1 John 2:1-2)

“God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. People who believe in God’s Son are not judged guilty. Those who believe in the Son have eternal life, but those who do not obey the Son will never have life. God’s anger stays on them.” (John 3:17, 36)

“He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever” (Psalm 111:5)

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want” (Psalm 23:1) 

“He said to me “My grace is sufficient for your, for my power is made perfect in weakness” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32)

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for his sums up the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 7:12)

“Love is patient, love is Kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud” (1 Corinthians 13:4)

“As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12)

“I urge you now to live the life to which God called you. Always be humble, gentle, and patient, accepting each other in love. You are joined together with peace through the Spirit, so make every effort to continue together in the this way” (Ephesians 4:1-3)

“Love each other deeply, because love will cause many sins to be forgiven. Open your homes to each other, without complaining. Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace” (1 Peter 4:  8-10)

“Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to do what is good for each other and for all people” (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joint and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts” (Hebrews 4:12)

The truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard but they obey what God’s teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy” (James 1:25)

“As newborn babies want milk, you should want the pure and simple teaching. By it you can mature in your salvation, because you have already examined and seen how good the Lord is” (1 Peter 2:2-3)

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1)

“The creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the childeren of God” (Romans 8:21)

“So know that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes for people who love him and obey his commands” (Deuteronomy 7:9)

“Jesus will keep you strong until the end so that there will be no wrong in you on the day our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. (1 Corinthians 1:8-9)

” Now that you are obedient children of God do not live as you did in the past. You did not understand, so you did the evil things you wanted. But be holy in all you do, just as God, the One who called you, is holy” (1 Peter 1:14-15)

“You were taught to leave your old self-to stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self becomes worse, because people are fooled by the evil things they want to do. But you were taught to be made new in your hears, to become a new person. That new person is made to be like God-made to be truly good and holy” (Ephesians 4:22-24)

“Keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11)

“Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to Keep oneself from being polluted by the world” (James 1:27)

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men” (Ephesians 6:7)

“Acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever” (Colossians 3:23-24)
