Month: March 2015

WEEKLY MEDITATION 30 MARCH – 5 APRIL 2015

As you begin this Holy week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“We worship God through his Spirit, and our pride is Christ Jesus. We do not put trust in ourselves or anything we can do” (Philippians 3:3)

“The person who trusts in the Lord will be blessed. The Lord will show him that he can be trusted. He will be strong, like a tree planted near water that sends its roots by a stream. It is not afraid when the days are hot: its leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year when no rain comes; it always produces fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

“When I am afraid, I will trust you. I praise God for his word. I trust God, so I am not afraid. What can human beings do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4)

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“My brothers and sisters, God called you to be free, but do not use your freedom as an excuse to what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Galatians 5:13-14)

“Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deed” (Hebrews 10:24)

“In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other. God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5)

WEEKLY MEDITATION 16-22 MARCH 2015

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame”. (Isaiah 50:7)

“My dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

“Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings” (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Pray for the 200 Christians Abducted by Islamic State

As many as 200 Assyrian Christians, mostly women and children, were kidnapped in Syria on Feb. 24 in an overnight raid by Islamic State. Reports indicate that IS may have executed some Christians and destroyed several churches during an attack on villages near the town of Tel Tmar, close to the Kurdish held city of Hassaka.

It is feared that the men will be executed and the women and children abused, sold or used as human shields. Voice Of Martyrs contacts in Syria ask that we pray for the encouragement and protection of Christians in Syria so that they can be a living testimony in the midst of war.

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.
