WEEKLY MEDITATION 12-18 DECEMBER 2016

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your guidance and will into our lives for your glory.

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And everyone who knocks will have the door opened” (Matthew 7:7-8)

“Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him” (Hebrews 11:6)

“This is the boldness we have in God’s presence: that if we ask God for anything that agrees with what he wants, he hears us. If we know he hears us ever time we ask him, we know we have what we ask from him. (1 John 5:14-15)

“After you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever” (1 Peter 5:10)

“You have been saved through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“Our high priest is able to understand our weaknesses. When he lived on earth, he was tempted in every way that we are, but he did not sin. Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it. (Hebrews 4:15-16)

“My brothers and sisters, God called you to be free, but do not use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Galatians 5:13-14)

“Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24)

” In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other. “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5)

“Do not lose the courage you had in the past, which has a great reward. You must hold on, so you can do what God wants and received what he has promised” (Hebrews 10:35-36)

“We must not become tired of doing good. WE will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9)

“God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again” (Philippians 1:6)

“Always be ready, because you don’t know the day your Lord will come…Because the Son of Man will come at a time you don’t expect him.  (Matthew 25:42-44)

“Just as everyone must die once and be judged, so Christ was offered as a sacrifice one time to take away the sins of many people. And he will come a second time, not to offer himself for sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him (Hebrews 9:27-28)

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. He gives me new strength. He leads me on paths that are right for the good of his name”  (Psalm 23:1-3)

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for his sheep…I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and my sheep know me just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I give my life for the sheep” (John 10:11, 14-15)

“God raised from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, because of the blood of his death. His blood began the eternal agreement that God made with his people (Hebrews 13:20-21)

“Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God” (1 Peter 1:21)

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even great things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12)

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joint and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts” (Hebrews 4:12)

The truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard but they obey what God’s teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy” (James 1:25)

“As newborn babies want milk, you should want the pure and simple teaching. By it you can mature in your salvation, because you have already examined and seen how good the Lord is” (1 Peter 2:2-3)
