WEEKLY MEDITATION 27 AUGUST – 2 SEPTEMBER 2018

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your word and will into our lives for your glory.

“The wisdom that comes from God is first of all pure, then peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help those who are troubled and to do good for others. It is always fair and honest. (James 3:17)

“When you are angry, do not sin, and be sure to stop being angry before the end of the day. Do not give the devil a way to defeat you.” (Ephesians 4:26-27)

“My dear brothers and sisters, always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily, because anger will not help you live the right kind of like God wants” (James 1:19-20)

“Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise” (Jeremiah 17:14)

“So know that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes for people who love him and obey his commands” (1 Corinthians 1:8-9)

“Jesus will keep you strong until the end so that there will be no wrong in you, on the day our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God, who has you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful” (1 Corinthians 1:8-9)

“Lord, answer me because your love is so good. Because of your great kindness, turn to me. DO not hide from me, your servant. I am in trouble. Hurry to help me! Come near and save me; rescue me from my enemies” (Psalm 69:16-18)

“I love the Lord because he listens to my prayers for help. He paid attention to me so I will call to him for help as long as I live” (Psalm 116:1-2)

“I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me!” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

“I urge you who have been chosen by God to live up to the life to which God called you. Always be humble, gentle, and patient, accepting each other in love. You are joined together with peace through the Spirit, so make every effort to continue together in this way” (Ephesians 4:1-3)

” Love each other deeply, because love will cause people to forgive each other for many sins. Open your homes to each other, without complaining. Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace” (1 Peter 4:8-10)

“Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to do what is good for each other and for all people” (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

“Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28)

“Come, let us talk about these things. Though your sins are like scarlet, they can be as white as snow. Though your sins are deep red, they can be white like wool” (Isaiah  1:18)

“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person’s heart” (John7:17-18)

“Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success.” (Proverbs 3 5-6)

“You were taught to leave your old self- to stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self-becomes worse because people are fooled by the evil things they want to do. But you were taught to be made new in your hearts, to become a new person. That new person is made to be like God–made to be truly good and holy” (Ephesians 4:22-24)

“Now that you are obedient children of God do not live as you did in the past. You did not understand, so you did the evil things you wanted. But be holy in all you do, just as God, the One who called you, is holy” (1 Peter 1:14-15)

“God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cust all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts.” (Hebrews 4:12)

“The truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard, but they obey what God’s teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy. ” (James 1:25)

“As newborn babies want mil, you should want the pure and simple teaching. By it, you can mature in your salvation because you have already examined and seen how good the Lord is” (1 Peter 2:2-3)
