WEEKLY MEDITATION 28 SEPTEMBER – 4 OCTOBER 2015

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your guidance and will into our lives for your glory.

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joint and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts” (Hebrews 4:12)

The truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard but they obey what God’s teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy” (James 1:25)

“As newborn babies want milk, you should want the pure and simple teaching. By it you can mature in your salvation, because you have already examined and seen how good the Lord is” (1 Peter 2:2-3)

“You were taught to leave your old self-to stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self becomes worse, because people are fooled by the evil things they want to do. ” Love is patient, love is Kind. It doesn’t not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud” (1 Corinthians 13:4)

“The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion” (Psalm 116:5)

“From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another” (John 1:16)

“He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (Peter 5:10)

“My brothers and sisters, God called you to be free, but do not use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Galatians 5:13-14)

“Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds.” (Hebrews 10:24)

“The the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other. “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5)
