WEEKLY MEDITATION 16-22 JANUARY 2023

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may understand and incorporate your word and will into our lives for your glory. Father, we thank you for your peace and comfort in these challenging times. We cling to you through your word and the presence of the holy spirit. Father, please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for you. Lord, we know that you are still in control and will use these challenging times for your good…in Jesus’ name, we pray.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power for the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29)

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights” (2 Samuel 22:33-34)

Jesus, we are so grateful for your willingness to come to be with us. You are truly Emmanuel…”God with us”. Please help us remember that this Christmas season as we celebrate you. Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may understand and incorporate your word and will into our lives for your glory. Please give us peace, your peace, comfort us in these challenging times, and help us cling to you through your word and the presence of the holy spirit. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

“The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

“Don’t worry and say, “what will we eat?” or “What will we drink?” or “What will we wear?” The people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them. Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well” (Matthew 6:31-33)

“If we are not faithful, he will still be faithful, because he must be true to who he is…God’s strong foundation continues to stand. These words are written on the seal: “The Lord knows those who belong to him”, and “Everyone who wants to belong to the Lord must stop doing wrong” (2 Timothy 2:13,19)

Please give us peace and comfort in these difficult times and help us cling to you through your word and the presence of the holy spirit. Please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for you. We know you are still in control and will use these challenging times for your good. During this time of Christmas, please help us remember the true meaning of Christmas and the ultimate gift given to humanity…in Jesus’ name we pray.
