WEEKLY MEDITATION 3-9 OCTOBER 2016

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your guidance and will into our lives for your glory.

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“After you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever” (1 Peter 5:10)

“You have been saved through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“Our high priest is able to understand our weaknesses. When he lived on earth, he was tempted in every way that we are, but he did not sin. Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it. (Hebrews 4:15-16)

“Love never hurts a neighbor, so loving is obeying all the law. Do this because we live in an important time. It is now a time for you to wake up from your sleep, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed” (Romans 13:10-11)

“Now respect the Lord and serve him fully and sincerely…Serve the Lord. But if you don’t want to serve the Lord, you must choose for yourselves today who you will serve.” (Joshua 24-14-15)

“Jesus has the power of God, by which he has given us everything we need to live and to serve God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus called us by his glory and goodness. Through these he gave us the very great and precious promises. With these gifts you can share in God’s nature, and the world will not ruin you with its evil desires” (2 Peter 1:3-4)

“My brothers and sisters, God called you to be free, but do not use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Galatians 5:13-14)

“Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24)

” In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other. “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5)

“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:24)

“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But on thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14)

“Be strong in the Lord and in his great power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can fight agains the devil’s tricks. Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the power of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world” (Ephesians 6:10-12)

“If you think you are strong, you should be careful not to fall. The only temptation that has come to you is that which everyone has. But you can trust God, who will not permit you to be tempted more than you can stand.But when you are tempted, he will also give you a way to escape so that you will be able to standing it. (1 Corinthians 10:12-13)

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32)

“I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people,  to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge -that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19)

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of His works with songs of joy.” (Psalm 107:21-22)

“I urge you now to live the life to which God called you. Always be humble, gentle, and patient, accepting each other in love. You are joined together with peace through the Spirit, so make every effort to continue together in the this way” (Ephesians 4:1-3)

“Love each other deeply, because love will cause many sins to be forgiven. Open your homes to each other, without complaining. Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace” (1 Peter 4:  8-10)

“Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to do what is good for each other and for all people” (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

“I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing” (Psalm 16:2)

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him” (Lamentations 3:25)
