WEEKLY MEDITATION 29 JANUARY 2024J

Jesus, we thank you for coming into our world as the light and to be our redeemer. To be Emmanuel…God with us. Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may understand and incorporate your word into our daily lives. Father, we thank you for your peace and comfort. Your wisdom and forgiveness. Your provision and healing. You are our rock and salvation. We cling to you through your word and the presence of the holy spirit. Father, please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for youin Jesus’ name, we pray.

“If someone does wrong to you, do not pay him back by doing wrong to him. Try to do what everyone thinks is right. Do your best to live in peace with everyone” (Romans 12:17-18)

“They are blessed who work for peace, for they will be called God’s children” (Matthew 5:9)

“Agree with each other, and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you” (2 Corinthians 13:11)

“The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts” “(Isaiah 55:8-9)

“Don’t worry and say, “What will we eat?” or “What will we drink?” or “What will we wear?” The people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them. Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well” (Matthew 6:31-33)

“If we are not faithful, he will still be faithful, because he must be true to who he is…God’s strong foundation continues to stand. These words are written on the seal: “The Lord knows those who belong to him” and “everyone who wants to belong to the Lord must stop doing wrong” (2 Timothy 2:13,19)

“But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you. If you do this, you will be true children of your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:44-44)

“If someone in your group does something wrong, you who are spiritual should go to that person and gently help make him right again. But be careful, because you might be tempted to sin, too. By helping each other with your troubles, you truly obey the law of Christ. If anyone thinks he is important when he really is not, he is only following himself. (Galatians 6:1-3)

“This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters. Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God’s love is not living in that person. My children, we should love people not only with words and talk but by our actions and true caring” (1 John 3:16-18)

“The Lord has set his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over everything” (Psalm 103:19)

“You have this faith and love because of your home, and what you hope for is kept safe for you in heaven. You learned about this hope when you heard the message about the truth, the Good News that was told to you” (Colossians 1:5-6)

“People will insult you and hurt you: They will lie and say all kinds of evil things about you because you follow me. But when they do, you will be blessed. Rejoice and be glad, because you have a great reward waiting for you in heaven” (Matthew 5:11-12)

Disappointment, and discouragement. It seems to be all around us these days. But remember Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. But this requires faith in the Lord. Faith in the Lord is the conviction that God knows way more than we do in this life, and we can rely on him fully, and completely. In fact, he wants and commands us to. He will not forsake us.

“They are blessed who grieve, for God will comfort them…They are blessed who hunger and thirst after justice, for they will be satisfied” (Matthew 5:4-6)

“I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13)

Father, please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for you. Lord, we know that you are still in control and will use these challenging times for your goodin Jesus’ name, we pray.

“I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about something and pray for it, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. This is true because if two or three people come together in my name, I am there with them” (Matthew 18: 19-20)

“Do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who are cruel to you” (Luke 6:27-28)

“Brothers and sisters, I beg you to help me in my work by praying to God for me. Do this because of our Lord Jesus and the love that the Holy Spirit gives us” (Romans 15:30)
