Holy Spirit

WEEKLY MEDITATION 23-29 DECEMBER 2024

Especially this time of year, we thank Jesus for coming into our world as the light and the way. We ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your word into our daily lives. Jesus, we thank you for your peace and comfort. Your wisdom, guidance, grace, and forgiveness. Your provision, blessings, and healing. You are our rock and salvation. Please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for you…in Jesus’ name, we pray.

Then the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you [like a shining cloud]; and so the holy (pure, sinless) Thing (Offspring) which shall be born of you will be called the Son of God. [Exod. 40:34; Isa. 7:14.] (Luke 1:35)

But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you are little to be among the clans of Judah; [yet] out of you shall One come forth for Me Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from ancient days (eternity). [Gen. 49:10; Matt. 2:5-12; John 7:42.]  (Micah 5:2)

Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us]. [Isa. 9:6; Jer. 31:22; Mic. 5:3-5; Matt. 1:22, 23.] (Isaiah 7:14)

Jesus, we thank you for coming into our world as the light. “If people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, there is death. But if their thinking is controlled. by the Spirit, there is life and peace. When people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, they are against God, because they refuse to obey God’s law and really are not even able to obey God’s law. Those people who are ruled by their sinful selves can not please God” (Romans 8: 6-8)

“We all show the Lord’s glory, and we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings ever greater glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

“Surely you know that the people who do wrong will not inherit God’s kingdom…In the past, some of you were like that, but you were washed clean. You were made holy, and you were made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God” ( 1 Corinthians 6: 9,11)

“My dear brothers and sisters, always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily, because anger will not help you live the right kind of life God wants” (James 1:19-20)

“Remember to keep the Sabbath holy. Work and get everything done during the six days each week, but the seventh day is a day of rest to honor the Lord your God. On that day no one may do any work…The reason is that in six days the Lord made everything-the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in the,. On the seventh day, he rested. So the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy” (Exodus 20: 8-11)

“God will do what is right. He will give trouble to those who trouble you. And he will give rest to you who are troubled” (2 Thessalonians 1:6-7)

“We who have believed are able to enter and have God’s rest” (Hebrews 4:3)

Jesus, we thank you for coming into our world as the light and to be. As we approach Easter and your resurrection, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your word into our daily lives. We remember and accept your sacrifice for our sins. Jesus, we thank you for your peace and comfort. Your wisdom, guidance, grace, and forgiveness. Your provision and healing. You are our rock and salvation. We cling to you through your word and the presence of the holy spirit. Please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for you…in Jesus’ name, we pray.
