WEEKLY MEDITATION 2-8 MARCH 2015

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you. I will carry you and save you” (Isaiah 46-4)

“I was young, and now I am old, but I have never seen good people left helpless or their children begging for food” (Psalm 37:25)

God, you have taught me since I was young. To this day I tell about the miracles you do. Even though I am old and gray, do not leave me, God. I will tell the children about your power; I will tell those who live after me about your might.” (Psalm 71:17-18)

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12)

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9)

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” (2 Corinthians 4:17)

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26)

“Praise be to the God and Father of your Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”.” (1 Peter 1:3)

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“Respect the Lord your God. You must worship him and make your promises only in his name. Do not worship other gods as people around you do, because the Lord your God is a jealous God.” (Deuteronomy 6:13-15)

Say to God, “Your works are amazing! Because your power is great, your enemies fall before you. All the earth worship you and sings praises to you. They sing praises to your name” (Psalm 66:3-4)

“The Time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, and that time is here already. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24)

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“LORD, answer me because your love is so good. Because of your great kindness, turn to me. Do not hide from me, your servant. I am in trouble. Hurry to help me! Come near and save me; rescue me from my enemies” (Psalm 69:16-18)

“I love the LORD, because he listens to my prayers for help. He paid attention to me, so I will call to him for help as long as I live” (Psalm 116:1-2)

“I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me! (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

“Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down” (Psalm 55:22)

“But the Lord said to me, “My Grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you”….For this reason I am happy when I have weaknesses, insults, hard times, sufferings, and all kinds of troubles for Christ. Because when I am weak, then I am truly strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

“Since Christ suffered while he was in his body, strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking Christ had….Strengthen yourselves so that you will live here on earth doing what God wants, not the evil people want” (2 Peter 4:1-2)

Today we are presenting “Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella”.

Bring a torch, Jeannette, Isabella;

Bring a torch, come swiftly and run.

Christ is born, tell the folk of the village;

Jesus is sleeping in His cradle.

Ah, ah, beautiful is the Mother;

Ah, ah, beautiful is her Son.

Hasten now, good folk of the village;

Hasten now, the Christ-Child to see.

You will fin Him asleep in the manger;

Quietly come and whisper softly,

Hush, hush, peacefully now He slumbers;

The Birth of Jesus

During this season of Advent, we would like to share some short stories, scripture, poems and essays with you over the coming weeks regarding Jesus’s birth and the indescribable gift we have been blessed with should we chose to accept it. Today we are presenting “The Birth of Jesus” by Henry Van Dyke.

The birth of Jesus is the sunrise of the Bible. Towards this point the aspirations of the prophets and the poems of the psalmists were directed as the heads of flowers are turned toward the dawn. From this point a new day began to flow very silently over the world-a day of faith and freedom, a day of home and love. When we remember the high meaning that has come into human life and the clear light that has flooded softly down from the manger-cradle in Bethlehem of Judea, we do not wonder that mankind has learned to reckon history from the birthday of Jesus, and to date all events by the years before or after the Nativity of Christ.

What can I give Him,

Poor as I am?
