WEEKLY MEDITATION 12-18 JUNE 2017

As you begin this week we ask that you meditate on the following scriptures and how they apply to your life and your growing relationship with the Lord.

Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may incorporate your word and will into our lives for your glory.

“We worship God through his Spirit, and our pride is in Christ Jesus. We do not put trust in ourselves or anything we can do” (Philippians 3:3)

“But the person who trsusts in the Lord will be blessed. The Lord will show him that he can be trusted. He will be strong, like a tree planted near water that sends its routs by a stratem. It is not afraid when the days are hot; its leaves are awlays green. It does not worry in a year when no rain comes; it always produces fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

“When I am afraid I will trust you. I praise God for his word. I trust God, so I am not afraid. What can human beings do to me.” (Psalm 16:3-4)

“If people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, there is death. But if their thinking is controlled by the Spirit, there is life and peace. When people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, they are against God, because they refuse to obey God’s law and really are not even able to obey God’s law. Those people who are ruled by their sinful selves cannot please God. (Romans 8:6-8)

“We all show the Lord’s glory, and we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings ever greater glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (1 Corinthians 3:18)

“Surely you know that the people who do wrong will not inherit God’s kingdom. In the past, some of you were like that, but you were washed clean. You were made holy, and you were made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:9,11)

“If you hide your sins, you will not succeed. If you confess and reject them, you will receive mercy” (Proverbs 28:13)

“If you listen to correction to improve your life, you will live among the wise. Those who refuse correction hate themselves, but those who accept correction gain understanding. Respect for the Lord will teach you wisdom. If you want to be honored, you must be humble” (Proverbs 15:31-33)

“In the kingdom of God….the important things are living right with God, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Anyone who serves Christ by living this way is pleasing God and will be accepted by other people. So let us try to do what makes peace and helps one another” (Romans 14:17-19)

“I urge you now to live the life to which God called you. Always be humble, gentle, and patient, accepting each other in love. You are joined together with peace through the Spirit, so make every effort to continue together in the way” (Ephesians 4:1-3)

“Love each other deeply, because love will cause many sins to be forgiven. Open your homes to each other, without complaining. Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace” (1 Peter 4:8-10)

“Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to do what is good for each other and for all people (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

“Bring to the storehouse a full tenth of what you earn so there will be food in my house. Test me in this….I will open the windows of heaven for you and pour out all the blessings you need” (Malachi 3:10)

“Give, and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you” (Luke 6″38)

Worship is the “thank you” that refuses to be silenced…..

“The power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord supports those who do right. The Lord watches over the lives of the innocent, and their reward will last forever. They will not be ashamed when trouble comes. They will be full in times of hunger” (Psalm 37:17-19)

“All that the Father has is mine…I tell you the truth, my father will give you anything you ask for in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy” (John 16:15, 23-24)

“My God will use his wonderful riches in Christ Jesus to give you everything you need” (Philippians 4:19)

“After you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever” (1 Peter 5:10)

“You have been saved through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

“Our high priest is able to understand our weaknesses. When he lived on earth, he was tempted in every way that we are, but he did not sin. Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it. (Hebrews 4:15-16)
