Father, we ask that you help us understand your word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and open our hearts and minds so that we may understand and incorporate your word and will into our lives for your glory. Please give us peace and comfort in these difficult times and help us cling to you through your word and the presence of the holy spirit. Please help us to see your blessings in our lives and give us a spirit of gratitude to you and for you. We know you are still in control and will use these challenging times for your good. Forgive us if we interpret your silence as a lack of your love. We know you will answer if we only stay faithful. During this time of Christmas, please help us remember the true meaning of Christmas and the ultimate gift given to humanity…in Jesus’ name we pray.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope because Jesus Christ rose from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3)
“Now I am right with God, not because I followed the law, but because I believed in Christ. God uses my faith to make me right with him. I want to know Christ and the power that raised him from the dead…Then I have hope that I myself will be raised from the dead” (Philippians 3:9-11)
“We have seen and can testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the World” (1 John 4:14)
